Visit this Texan city during the spring or fall to escape the sweltering heat of summer while still enjoying the outside activities. Drive-in movie theaters, shopping and good eats can all be found in San Antonio.
Before arriving, do some research on the best areas to stay to get the most for your money. While hotels on the Riverwalk will cost you around $150/night, hotels closer to the airport or areas like Market Square will run a little bit cheaper.
Once in San Antonio, your best bet for getting around is to hop on a street car or bus and navigate the city like a local with an all day pass that will only set you back about $4.
And if you need to eat on a budget, you’ve definitely come to the right place if you like TexMex and Mexican food. Taquerias throughout the city serve up fresh tacos all day long for about $1. Not too shabby.
Many fun attractions that draw crowds to San Antonio are also easy on the wallet. Tour the Alamo for free, window shop for cowboy boots or stroll the River Walk for next to nothing.
