Must Visit Museum: National Gallery, London

November 23, 2013 by

Over 2300 paintings speckle the walls at the National Gallery in London. This is a must see museum with something for the whole family.

They host works of C├ęzanne, Monet, Rembrandt, Dyke, Michelangelo and hundreds of other works dating as far back as the 13th century.

If you have a whole day to spend here, take your time exploring the floors, laid out by timeframe. If you only have a hour or two, check out the 30 must see paintings. And definitely make time to have a bite to eat at the National Dining Room, which features a traditional British taste highlighting local flavors and ingredients.

The National Gallery is open from 10 to 6 daily, and until 9pm on Fridays. Admission is free.

Special events are held on most days, so be sure to check the calendar when planning your visit.

If you’re an aspiring artists, sign up for a free creative workshop and draw inspiration from the historical piece surrounding you. For the little ones, let them enjoy storytelling, walk and talks, or drawing and painting workshops.
