Hollywood Costume Exhibit

The Hollywood Costume Exhibit has been organized by the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and will run from November 9 to February 17, 2014.

This exhibit explores the important role costume design plays in cinematic storytelling. It offers a chance to view some of the most iconic cinema costumes from the past century including clothing worn by favorite characters from films like: The Wizard of Oz, The Birds, My Fair Lady, Superman, Titanic, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and The Dark Knight Rises.

Costumes in this collection come from private and archival collections in California. Most items have never been publicly displayed and many have not been seen in years beyond the security of studio archives. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is the only East Coast venue for this exhibition.
