One of Colorado Springs main attractions is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Tucked in the hills along the front range, this zoo will offer an experience you won’t forget.

The first and arguably most thrilling exhibit is the African Rift Valley. Here you stand eye to eye with a herd of giraffes! Stick some crackers and lettuce in your mouth for a extra special kiss ($2). In the African rift, you’ll also visit with rhinos, ostriches, and hippos.

You’ll also be blown away by the size of Colorado’s largest animal – the moose! Then keep your eye out for the elusive wolves and mountain lions.

Ride the carousel ($2) which was originally giving rides at the 1932 World Fair, or catch a bird’s eye view from the Mountaineer Skyride ($5).

An added bonus of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the unparalleled views of Colorado Springs and the eastern planes.

Entry fee is $17 for adults and $12 for children during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day). Children under 2 are free and military members receive a discount. Visit here to plan your trip.
