Gifts for Young Adventurers: Little Passports

April 10, 2014 by

littlepassportsTravel teaches children important lessons about geography and culture. But what’s a parent to do when they want to raise a global citizen on a stay-cation budget? Enter Amy Norman and Stella Ma, both moms, who designed the child-focused monthly subscription service Little Passports as a way to inspire children to learn about the world.

Little Passports gives parents the choice of two subscriptions—the World Edition, which explores a new country each month, or the USA Edition, which ventures through each of the 50 states. The program is designed for children between the ages of 5 and 10, with each month bringing a new adventure directly to their mailbox.

To kick off the international edition, kids receive a travel suitcase, world wall map, travel passport and a number of stickers, activity sheets and access to online games. (The American edition includes a USA field guide, scratch book, wall map and disposable camera.)

Each edition follows two adventurers, Sam and Sophie, as they travel the world exploring. Each month your child can track Sam and Sophie on a new adventure and collect fun souvenirs, like stickers for their suitcase and photos of the destination’s major sites, all while playing games and learning about new places.

Little Passports costs $11.95/month plus $2 for shipping, and offers 6- and 12-month payment plans at reduced rates that can be purchased online.
