Hersheypark Sweetens the Fun With 3 New Rides

April 9, 2014 by

Hersheypark celebrates its 107th summer season this year and to commemorate the event, they are unveiling three new rides that will appeal to all ages.

Along with the new rides, they’ve also added a couple of delicious eateries. The first is Chickie’s & Pete’s, the legendary Philadelphia/South Jersey eatery famous for their crabfries, and the second is a frozen yogurt stand.

Cocoa Cruiser

The new Cocoa Cruiser lets you take your child on their first coaster style ride. You’ll find this ride in the park’s Music Box Way area next to the GEICO Fender Bender.

The Cocoa Cruiser follows a compact oval track and features a midcourse helix that carries the train along a radius of more than 360 degrees. This six-car train ride holds up to 12 riders and is suitable for all ages including kids in the Hershey’s Kisses height category.

Tea Cup

The Tea Cup ride is a classic family favorite that features six two-person tea cups mounted on a circular floor capable of turning 360 degrees. The cups spin around a tilted tea pot centerpiece, and riders turn a steering wheel to control the speed of the cup’s spin.

Kids as well as parents will enjoy taking a sweet spin on the Tea Cup ride located in The Hollow.

Sweet Swing

The new Sweet Swing ride is also located in The Hollow area of Hersheypark. It’s a giant bench which accommodates six riders on each side. The Sweet Swing offers the perfect thrill for kids in the Hershey’s Kisses height category and is designed to be the sweetest swing ever.

These three new rides joint more than 70 other rides and attractions in the 110-acre park. All three of the rides were built by Zamperla Rides of Italy, which is famous for its family thrill rides.

The park will be open some weekends in April and early May, and will be open daily starting May 21 until Sept. 1. For more information visit their website.
