Must Visit: The Insect Circus, London

June 19, 2012 by

If your tastes tend towards the unique and unusual, a visit to The Insect Circus or traveling Insect Museum must be a stop on any visit to England. Founded in 2002 by painter Mark Copeland, The Insect Circus brings creepy crawly bugs to life with costumed aerialists, performers and trapeze artists performing acts that will dazzle your imagination and awaken the child inside.

With many shows in London throughout the year, and many more in neighboring areas, the “insects” in this circus keep quite busy. Described as “kooky,” “oddly funny” and “edgy” by reviewers, the Insect Circus presents a little bit of old circus charm along with healthy doses of humor and creativity.

While kids may not understand much of the humor, and the circus warns against bringing children under the age of 13, this show is perfect for teenagers and adults alike. Check the website for a complete list of show dates throughout the year, and locations for the traveling Insect Circus Museum.
