Siesta Key Beach Has It All

Siesta Key

Looking for a white powdered sugar sand type beach and turquoise water but don’t want to travel to the middle of nowhere? Siesta Key Beach has it all.

This stretch of snow-white sand in Southwest Florida is composed of mostly crushed quartz crystal (99%) and feels satiny like baby powder. An added plus is that the very composition of the sand reflects the sunlight and feels cool on the feet even on the hottest days.

Ideal Beach for Everyone Including Children

It’s a wide beach with hundreds of yards of sand perfect for stretching out to soak up the sun and plenty of room to throw a Frisbee or play sand volleyball on one of the courts.

It’s a clean beach, with the sand groomed each morning making it the ideal beach for swimming, shelling, sunning, or playing. It is also a good choice of beach for families with young children because it enjoys shallow water depth near the shore area and employs lifeguard protection year round.

Siesta Key Beach Access and Amenities

For those staying on Siesta Key, there are plenty of public access points if you’re within walking distance. If not, there are 800 parking spaces, but they fill up early. So when you’re making accommodation reservations be sure to ask about beach access and how far away it is.

The beach itself offers several amenities including:

  • 20 station fitness trail
  • Ball fields
  • Picnic tables
  • Playground equipment
  • Rest rooms
  • Soccer field
  • Tennis courts
  • Volleyball courts (on the beach)

Special Needs Wheelchairs

Siesta Key Beach also has special needs “wheelchairs” available at no cost. Look for them near the main pavilion walkover and the beach chair rental.

Beach management asks that they be used to transport disabled people and then be returned so it is available to others who need it.

Concession Stands

Siesta Key Beach also features a couple of concession stands which sell food and souvenirs. They offer standard beach fare like burgers and hot dogs, and for those who would prefer something more, a wide range of nearby restaurants offer everything from sandwiches to sushi.

If you prefer, you can pack your cooler and eat at one of the many picnic tables. Limited picnic shelters are also available for large groups and can be reserved in advance.

For more information on renting one of these shelters, call 941-861-5000.
