Polar Express Train Ride

All aboard for Christmas magic!

If you’re looking for a way to add a touch of magic to the Holiday Season, book a trip on the Polar Express train nearest you.

These train ride events are based on The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. This story is centered on a doubting boy who boards a magical train that takes him to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

The Polar Express train ride offers a bit of that magic to passengers of all ages.

Polar Express Train Ride Events

Families who enjoy reading The Polar Express, or watched the movie starring Tom Hanks, will recognize scenes and activities aboard the Polar Express Train. These magical train ride events are scheduled across the country from Polar Express Ride NJ, to Polar Express Sacramento.

The most popular is probably the event organized by the Grand Canyon Railway.

Along the way, passengers are visited by lively elves and other characters to entertain. It’s an interactive experience with passengers encouraged to participate in singing, dancing, and acting out old-fashioned Christmas songs, as The Polar Express Story is read.

The train ride lasts about an hour, and Santa’s chefs will provide plenty of fresh chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate. Even with all this fun, nothing compares to the anticipation of Santa’s arrival as he makes his way through each car on the train to greet each boy and girl, and mom and dad, as he leaves them with a special gift.

Polar Express packages are available for the whole family, but will vary from location to location.

How do they explain to the children that the train isn’t actually going to the North Pole?
